Our Method
AcquiSpeak is a one-of-a-kind method to teach yourself English.
Our self-study academy gives you the tools to (1) internalise English grammar through training and memorisation and (2) build your fluency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking by working through audio-based texts.
Here’s how it works in three steps:
1: Read and Analyse
It all starts with reading English, in English that you can understand.
Our learning platform guides you through stories and texts chapter-by-chapter, introducing you to the major concepts of the English language one by one and helping you to intuit their meaning without ever having to pick up a textbook. This method is known as ‘comprehensible input’ or the ‘natural method’. You can learn more about it here.
2: Listen and Repeat
Next, you’ll listen and read along to audio.
By immersing yourself in the sound of spoken English, you’ll be able to pick up its nuance, tone, and idiosyncrasies of the language. (All of our audio stories are recorded by native speakers with a passion for storytelling!) In this step, the goal is to mimic the native pronunciation as closely as possible. This technique is called ‘shadowing’, which you can learn more about here.
3: Train and Improve
Finally, we help you make sure the leaning sticks.
After every chapter, you’ll get plenty of detailed explanations, word references, exclusive tips, and varied exercises and drills. All of this will instantiate what you learned in the previous chapter and, ultimately, help you to think in English as if you were a native speaker yourself.
